A female mail carrier sustained serious Michigan Dog Bite Injuries after becoming the victim of a canine attack last week. Records show the incident happened at approximately 4 p.m. on July 15, at a residence located on Missouri Avenue in the town of Flint, Michigan.

According to an article from M Live, the mail carrier had just placed letters into a mailbox at a residence when a dog suddenly raced towards her and lunged on top of her. The dog bit the woman in the face, and several neighbors rushed to the victim’s aid and were able to free her.

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, along with paramedics.

The incident highlights the serious risk of injury dog bites present to postal workers. The U.S. Postal Service recently examined the problem and implemented several policies to help prevent workers from being harmed.

The incident still leaves many citizens wondering what to do when dog bites occur.

The Michigan Personal Injury Lawyers with Michigan Injury Lawyers say that the most important thing for dog bite victims to do is seek medical attention they need for their injuries following an attack. The victim should then attempt to gather any information possible about the animal and its owner. The individual should then consider contacting an experienced dog bite attorney to discuss their legal options.
