Michigan Injury Lawyers to Offer Bi-Yearly College Scholarship
Helping students meet their financial needs
The Michigan personal injury law firm Michigan Injury Lawyers is happy to announce that it will be awarding a $500 bi-yearly scholarship to a student who is planning to attend a college or university during the 2016-2017 academic year. As an attorney who attended Michigan State University for both his undergraduate studies and for law school, founding partner Thomas L. Stroble understands the value of higher education. He also understands that the ever-rising costs of a quality college or university education make it more and more difficult for many families and students to pursue their dreams of obtaining a degree. As a result, his law firm has decided to offer its first-ever scholarship essay competition to help students pay for the costs associated with obtaining an education.
Scholarship eligibility and the essay competition
In order to participate in the competition, an applicant must either be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university or be planning to enroll for the fall 2016 semester. In order to apply, applicants must write a 500-word essay on the following topic:
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that there were some 424,000 people injured in accidents involving distracted drivers during 2013. Distracted driving has become a serious public health issue, in no small part due to the popularity of smart phones and other personal Internet-enabled devices in recent years. Michigan joined fourteen states and Washington D.C. when it made texting or emailing when driving a car illegal. Do you think this type of legislation reduces the risk of accidents attributable to distracted driving? Why or why not?
Essays will be judged on the quality of the writing and the potential the applicant demonstrates for success in a field of study related to law. Our attorneys will choose a winner and notify the applicant via email. In order to apply, applicant should send their essays as an attachment to firstname.lastname@example.org by October 20, 2016. We will announce the winner on or around October 31, 2016.
We would like to congratulate Brandon Nicholas Kelly for winning the Spring 2016 bi-annual scholarship! Congratulations, Brandon!
Applicants should also include the following information in the body of their email:
- Their full name, address, and phone number
- The college or university they are attending or plan to attend
- Their program of study
- A link to their Facebook, LinkedIn, or Google Plus profile
