Detroit Car Accident Claims One Life and Leaves Three Others Injured

May 24, 2013

A teen was killed and three other motorists were left with serious injuries following a Detroit Car Accident last week. Reports indicate the crash happened at approximately 3:20 p.m. last Monday, May 13, near the corner of Michigan Avenue and American Drive in the suburb of Dearborn.

According to an article from ABC 7 News, the victim was in a Ford Escort stopped at a traffic signal along Michigan Avenue. While waiting for a light to change to green, the Escort was hit from behind by a SMART bus. The impact of the collision forced the Escort to hit a pickup truck, which was pushed off the road and into a row of trees and bushes along the median.

The crash left the 16-year-old driver of the Escort dead, while the driver of the pickup and two passengers in the Escort were injured. Paramedics took each of the victims to a local hospital to receive treatment.

An ongoing investigation is being conducted by both SMART and the Dearborn Police Department.

The Detroit Personal Injury Lawyers with Michigan Injury Lawyers are aware of how devastating the loss of a loved one to a motor vehicle accident can be. They send their sympathies to the family of the deceased, and they would like to wish those who were injured a speedy recovery.
